October 9, 2020 - LMA Seven Principles: Principle #4

LMA Principle #4 - Reach Out to the Body for Help

In many ways, this is why Jesus built the Church: to be the ultimate support group. It is but in many instances, but self-righteousness and legalist attitudes hinder the proper attitude required to be a mentor/sponsor. Seek others in the Body that accept and forgive and have similar problems (i.e., addictions and compulsions).

Within the community of Believers, some are judgmental and legalistic. Maybe you are or have been one of these types of people. And there are also accepting and loving, grace-filled people. Seek accepting people that can help you with your journey. We all need a helping hand along the way.

  • 2 Timothy 2:24 (TPT): For a true servant of our Lord Jesus will not be argumentative but gentle toward all and skilled in helping others see the truth, having great patience toward the immature.

  • 2 Timothy 2:24 (Mirror Bible): In your position as someone completely dedicated to the Lord, there is no virtue in winning an argument but losing the person! I would much rather have you exhibit a sensitive courtesy towards all people, skillfully educate them, and keep your cool under pressure.

Reach out for help as needed. A "true servant" will help you. They will be gentle and patient.

Enough said.

Blessings All Around,
