LMA Principle #5 - Stop Being Pushed Around by Fear and Guilt

Fear and guilt/shame undermine more efforts to overcome addictions and compulsions than also any other issue. Also, holding ‘resentments’ toward others is known as the #1 Offender by the 12-Step Program (as in number one thing that leads to Relapse); God will provide both help and hope with these problems.

  • Romans 5:1-2 (NKJV): “Therefore, having been justified by faith, we have peace with God through our Lord Jesus Christ, through whom also we have access by faith into this grace in which we stand, and rejoice in hope of the glory of God.”

  • Romans 5:1-2 (Mirror Bible): The conclusion is clear: our righteousness has absolutely nothing to do with our ability to keep moral laws; it is the immediate result of what Jesus accomplished on mankind’s behalf. This gives context to faith, and finds expression in unhindered, face to face friendship with God! Jesus Christ is the head of this union! (2) Jesus is God’s face to face grace embrace of the entire human race. So here we are, standing tall in the joyful bliss of our redeemed innocence! We are God’s dream come true! This was God’s 4dea all along!

Fear, guilt, and shame are the enemy of all that is attempting to grow in their recovery/spiritual life. These stem from all types of fears and lead to focusing on resentments. STOP! Look to God (Father-Son-Spirit). Rely on the faith (that is Jesus Christ), and you will be provided with hope and help.

  • Romans 5:4 (TPT): And patient endurance will refine our character, and proven character leads us back to hope.

  • Romans 5:4 (Mirror Bible): Patience provides proof of every positive expectation.

Never lose hope. Be patient, and you will always be provided hope in Christ.

Enough said.

Blessings All Around,
