Hey Everybody,
LMA Christ-Centered Recovery Group (We Are All Recovering From Something)
LMA Group Guidelines & Opening Statement
LMA Group Guidelines & Opening Statement LMA is based on two themes: “We Are All Recovering From Something” and “All Are Included.” As we know, many of our participants struggle with substance abuse and/or dependence. Yet, even the 12-step model (according to the AA text, better known as the Big Book) states that alcohol is but a symptom; ….. (i.e., drugs are a symptom, sin/wrong-doing are symptoms …..). Our premise is that we suffer from a much deeper malady than the substance or the behavior; Our Spiritual Condition and Spiritual Identity are the keys to our recovery, redemption, and overall healing. We are not here to force our beliefs or views on one another, but to seek a closer relationship with Jesus Christ and one another. Our goal is to grow in our spiritual life and to experience a more abundant life as the result of growing relationships. Let us read from Galatians 2:20 (TPT): My old identity has been co-crucified with Christ and no longer lives. And now the essence of this new life is no longer mine, for the Anointed One lives his life through me—we live in union as one! My new life is empowered by the faith of the Son of God who loves me so much that he gave himself for me, dispensing his life into mine! Grace is God’s unconditional love and pure goodness perpetually in action working all things for the good (Divine Influence) to help everyone know and enjoy and experience abundant life by: Relating to us personally. Energizing and empowering us to be all God created us to be. Energizing and empowering us to do all God created us to do. Continually showing us that God is PURE goodness. Continually showing us that God is totally for us. Continually showing us that God has forgiven, accepted and included us in Their relationship and chose us before creation. Continually reminding us that there is not and never has been separation from God for anyone. Communicating with us how They see us and everyone. Continually reminding us that we died, we no longer live but Christ lives in us, through us and as us. Reminding us that we are one with the Father, Jesus, the Holy Spirit … and everyone. Reminding us that They are working every situation for the good of us and everyone. Producing effortless change in us as we dwell in seamless union with the Trinity. Grace is a Person, continually revealing to us what God wants us to say and do in every situation (Paul Gray – Grace is.) 2 Corinthians 13:14 says, “The grace of the Lord Jesus Christ, and the love of God, and the fellowship of the Holy Spirit, be with you all.” Amen. If you would like to use LMA as a format for a “Recovery/Spiritual Journey” Meeting contact us and we will be glad to assist you in setting up a meeting.
