LMA Seven Principles LMA Principle #3 Take Charge of Your Emotions. Unwise emotional reactions get all of us in trouble a lot of the time. Emotions are wonderful God-given blessings. They add to life and enhance our enjoyment and provide us with special moments. Yet, they are also frail, fragile things that can and do at times overwhelm us and lead to faulty, negative decisions and actions. Proverbs 15:13 “A cheerful heart puts a smile on your face, but a broken heart leads to depression.” Proverbs 16:32 “Do you want to be a mighty warrior? It is better to be known as one who is patient and slow to anger. Do you want to conquer a city? Rule over your temper before you attempt to rule a city.” Proverbs 29:11 “You can recognize fools by the way they give full vent to their rage and let their words fly! But the wise bite their tongue and hold back all they could say.” Ephesians 4:26 “But don’t let the passion of your emotions lead you to sin! Don’t let anger control you or be fuel for revenge, not for even a day.”
Take a long look at how your handle and respond to your emotions……are they helpful and fun…..or are you always angry and/or depressed? Look within……what troubles you……what makes you happy…….. See yourself as the beloved son/daughter of God that you are…..look at your ‘True Identity’ (Acts 17:28 -TPT-) and live your life inside this truth…….
James 5:13 (TPT) Prayer for the Sick Are there any believers in your fellowship suffering great hardship and distress? Encourage them to pray! Are there happy, cheerful ones among you? Encourage them to sing out their praises! This can be sick of body heart and mind………pray for and with the ‘sick’……sing praises for and with the happy joyful ones…… Enough said…..
